Meet the Owner: The Design Headquarters

I’m Tina Soules, proud owner of The Design Headquarters.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I grew up in Sparta, Michigan. I studied at the University of Texas SA, focusing on organic chemistry.

When I was younger, my father bought a house for $1! The house had a kitchen grease fire that took out half of the home. The kitchen was destroyed, as was the main bathroom, laundry room, dining room and back entry. The remaining house had severe smoke damage. We lived in that house and renovated the entire thing. My father did not hire one single trade. We did it all! My father went on to sell that house once it was finished. He bought another one and we went at it again knocking down walls, building new bathrooms, moving the kitchen, living room, etc.

Learning trades at such a young age stuck with me. I saw firsthand taking something ugly, damaged, and broken and turning it into something beautiful, thriving, and perfect. It gave me a sense of pride and ownership to see that hard work pays off and it was magical. I loved it and to this day I love to get my hands dirty.

Experiences such as these is how my heart fell in love with repurposing. It was brilliant to see progress and transformation. And every day I got to enjoy the fruits of my work. I believe I have vision, detail, and good taste. I am creative and have an ability to create color palettes specific to a client's taste.

This is basically how I forayed into the world of interior design as I realized my ability to envision multiple levels of design details makes me hugely successful in creating beautiful spaces.

I enjoy listening to clients, deciphering what they want, giving them options that allow my clients to be a part of the design process and delivering a final custom product.

As a professional, I wanted to combine all of my experiences and my passions into one business. I wanted to do all the things I love and not pick just one. This is the reason I started The Design Headquarters.

I love what I do and don't see it as work. I see it as an opportunity to make someone's dreams come true, by designing for them with creativity, vision, and discipline. I have been working and designing independently for five years. I design finishes for new custom homes. I renovate homes & businesses. I design remodels, color palettes and workspaces. I work with real estate professionals staging homes and updating them to sell at a greater value and at a faster rate.

I attribute my success to my parents. Chores equal hard work and morals. Being part of a family that worked hard and didn't hire help took our homes to a new level. We worked diligently and dutifully. This instilled values for me. I accepted responsibility early on and saw the fruits of hard work. I have been blessed with some amazing business opportunities and started young. I've traveled the world and have enjoyed seeing different cultures which have given me drive to be successful.

While I am not at work, I love to be outside. I like to work on the yard and at the ranch. I love to build things, fix anything, get dirty, wear my cowboy boots, go to the Cowboy Church, cook, support my community, watch football and spend time with the family.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.

If you or someone you know could benefit from our expertise in interior design, I invite you to get in touch. Please visit our website at www.thedesignheadquarters.com.
